Become a Capitec Bank Merchant

Locally registered traders, retailers and wholesalers with a South African bank account are invited to apply. The business must be legitimate and have all the required documentation. For example, a valid liquor licence must be presented if the law states that your business requires one.

Foreign nationals must present the following documents:

Valid foreign passport
Permanent residence permit
Original proof of residence

Our PIN-enabled countertop point-of-sale merchant terminals are EMV-compliant and use GPRS technology. Meaning you can still use the terminal even if you don't have a telephone line, by simply connecting it to a power point. Please note that GPRS terminals are also available upon request. If you have existing GPRS hardware, simply connect the terminal and transact as usual.
