Swipe Your Way to Hollywood Competition

Terms and conditions

1. 1. The "Swipe your way to Hollywood" competition runs from 1 October 2012 until 30 November 2012. Any entries after the closing date (30 November 2012) won't be included in the draw. The prize is a trip to Hollywood for the winner and his/her partner.
2. 2. Entry for the competition is automatic if you use your Global One MasterCard from 1 October 2012 to 30 November 2012 to buy goods/services from a merchant using a card machine or the Internet or do a cashback transaction at a retailer.
3. 3. To be eligible for the competition, participants must reside in the Republic of South Africa and must be a South African resident. The competition is not open to directors, members, partners, agents, employees or consultants of Capitec Bank or entrants under the age of 18 at the time of the draw.
4. 4. Your entry into the competition and/or your acceptance of the prize (should you win) constitutes your binding acceptance of the terms and conditions.
5. 5. Your name will be entered into a draw and the winner will be selected randomly by a computer-programmed algorithm. If you don’t want to participate in the draw, you may opt out of the competition by calling our Client Care Centre on 0860 10 20 43.
6. 6. We don't make any representations or give any warranties, whether expressly or implicitly, as to a prize, and in particular, but without limitation, make no representations and give no warranty that your entry or participation in the competition will necessarily result in you winning a prize or that a prize, or any aspect thereof, will meet your requirements, preferences, standards or expectations.
7. 7. Prizes aren't transferable. You may not win a prize if it is unlawful for us to supply such a prize to you. If you do win such a prize, you will forfeit it. You must be eligible to win the prize.
8. 8. You must possess whatever documents (such as visas and passports) and permissions that may be required in order to accept and use a prize which documents and permissions it is your responsibility to obtain at your own cost, and which documents and permissions must remain valid in such minimum form.
9. 9. The winner will be directly contacted using the details provided to us and we will announce the winner of the competition on our website at www.capitecbank.co.za and on platforms appropriate to the competition. If we are, or a third-party supplier is, unable to contact the winner within 30 days, the winner will forfeit the prize and we reserve the right to redraw a new winner under the same conditions.
10. 10. We reserve the right to vary, postpone, suspend or cancel the competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason we deem necessary. In the event of such variation, postponement, suspension or cancellation, you agree to waive any rights, interests and expectations that you may have in terms of this competition and acknowledge that you will have no recourse against us, our affiliates and third-party suppliers.
11. 11. You agree that your participation in the competition, and your acceptance and/or use of a prize, or any aspect thereof, is at your own risk.
12. 12. We won't be responsible, and disclaim all liability, for any loss, liability, injury, expense or damage (whether direct, indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential) of any nature, whether arising from negligence or any other cause, which is suffered by your participation in the competition or the acceptance and/or use by you or your partner, of any prize, or by any action taken by us or any of our affiliates in accordance with the terms and conditions.
13. 13. We may require the winner of the competition to attend, at our cost, any prizegiving ceremony arranged by us or we may use your photo in marketing material. The winner will be given the opportunity to decline the publication of their images and the participating in marketing material. The winner shall be given an opportunity to opt in or opt out. Opting in is not a prerequisite to participate in the competition.
14. 14. On acceptance of the prize you will be required to sign this Competition terms and conditions. You have the option to decline the prize. These terms and conditions will be construed, interpreted and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
15. 15. If you fail to comply with any of the terms and conditions, then without prejudice to any other remedy, which we may have, you will be automatically disqualified and you will forfeit the prize/s (in the event that you have already won a prize).
16. 16. Our decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

Includes: economy class return flights from JHB OR Tambo Airport to Los Angeles; airport departure taxes; meet and greet service on arrival at Los Angeles Airport; hotel transfers; welcome dinner, 6 nights accommodation and breakfast daily; guided full-day and nightclub tours with food and beverages included; full-day shopping; Capitec Bank cash allowance of R10 000 which will be deposited into the winner's Capitec Bank account (cash allowance of R10 000 is only payable to the winner and not the partner), farewell dinner; US visa application fee including visa appointment facilitation; all group dinner gratuities and taxes; and Capitec Bank-branded items.

Excludes: all beverages not specified above; items of a personal nature; all optional extras/excursions; travel expenses to the nearest US Consulate in South Africa for their compulsory US visa interview; expenses of a personal nature such as minibars, laundry and telephone calls.
