    bank better, live better

    new fees, no fuss

We update our fees every year on 1 March. We’ve kept the increases as low as possible to help you bank better to live better in 2018.

If you bank smartly, you'll pay less in fees. Here are our 5 top tips for getting the most out of your Global One account:

Earn interest and bank for free

The monthly admin fee increases minimally from R5.50 to R5.75. Since you get from 5.1% interest on all the money in your transactional/savings account, you can easily earn enough interest to cover your bank fees.

    Use our digital channels

We’ve been voted the best digital bank in SA with good reason, because we make these platforms very accessible and affordable. Pay people or accounts on our app or Internet banking for only R1.60.

Data costs when using our app are zero-rated. So while the app uses data, your cellular network provider won’t bill you for it (Telkom excluded).

Always remember, if your transaction involves physical cash or assistance from a service consultant at a branch, you’re likely going to pay more in bank fees. Digital banking always costs less.

    Card payments are free

Paying with your Capitec card instead of cash is safer and more affordable. There is no fee for card payments whether shopping locally or internationally.

Check bank statements on our app

Need to print bank statements? You can do it yourself at our Self Service Terminal inside a branch for R7.50. Or instead of visiting a branch, simply email 3 months’ stamped bank statements straight from our app, for free! You’ll also skip the queues!

Low ATM fees make getting cash a breeze

Did you know it’s often cheaper for Capitec clients to draw money at another bank’s ATM, than it is for that bank’s own clients. This is because we charge a single fixed fee for withdrawals, while other banks generally charge their clients a percentage of the amount.

You only pay R6.50 when drawing cash at a Capitec ATM or R8.75 at another bank’s ATM – no matter how big the amount. This gives you access to over 30 000 ATMs countrywide.

    do you have lazy money?

While most people work hard for their money, their money isn’t working for them. Right now, there’s R295 billion in lazy money in South Africa. Money that’s simply sitting in transactional accounts earning no interest. If that money earned just 4.75% interest, it would put an extra R14.8 billion into the pockets of South Africans each year.
