Here’s how to protect yourself from online shopping scams:
- Stick to websites you know and trust
- Beware of websites that impersonate well-known brands. Don’t click on links in messages or ads. Instead, type the brand’s official website address in your browser
If shopping on a new website
- Always make sure the website is legit
- Do your own research online
- Check for independent reviews
- Search keywords like 'scam' and 'legit' together with the brand name
- Check if the website offers secure payment methods
- Read the return policy carefully
Keep your card info private
- Never share your card number, expiry date or 3-digit CVV or CVC (at the back of your card) with anyone
- Don’t let anyone use your card to shop online
Get notifications for your transactions
- Set up free in-app messages to track money in and out of your account
