Switch on WhatsApp:

No need to call our call centre or visit the branch, you can now switch on WhatsApp! Here’s how:

  • Send hello to 067 418 9565 on WhatsApp
  • Select Switch to Capitec
  • Read and agree to T&C’s
  • Select Switch my Salary or Switch Debit Orders
  • One of our agents will be there to assist you
 

Alternative ways to switch:

 

Do it online

  • Fill in your details on the move debit orders form 
  • Upload a statement from your other bank account, e.g., Absa or FNB, that shows your debit orders (not older than 3 months)
  • An agent will reach out to you within 48hrs via our official WhatsApp number (067 418 9565) to confirm that you have uploaded the correct documents and verify the debit orders to be switched
 

Do it through your employer

You will need a letter with the details of your Capitec account to move your salary. This proof of account needs to be submitted to your employer or HR department so your salary can be paid into your Capitec account.

Get your proof of account on our app

  • Tap Savings Account on the home screen
  • Tap the top-right menu
  • Choose Send account details
  • Choose the email option and enter an email address
 

Please note: Moving your debit orders will take a few days to complete, so please ensure that you have enough funds in your old account for any debit orders that couldn’t be moved in time.
