Which areas does the service cover?
It covers moving the body between South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, or Mozambique to a funeral home in South Africa.
What else does the service include? The service includes transport and overnight accommodation for one family member who will accompany the remains of your loved one.
Included in your Capitec Funeral Plan
- Transportation of the deceased to the funeral home of the claimant's choice closest to the place of burial
- Transport arrangements for one relative to the nearest funeral home of choice closest to the place of burial
- Pre-arranged bed and breakfast accommodation for a maximum of one night, if required, for one relative accompanying the deceased body to the place of burial
- Guidance and support regarding the death registration procedures e.g. to obtain a death certificate, removal of body, etc.
- Assistance in the arrangement of the burial or cremation. Related costs are for your own account
- Referral to pathologists if required by a claimant
- Referral to a psychologist or psychiatrist if required by a claimant
- Referral for special counselling, particularly relating to the loss of a child, if required by a claimant

- The service is arranged by Capitec for the policyholder and provided by a third party
- Capitec will not be held accountable for losses, damages or expenses arising from using the service

Access to funeral support is available through FMS (a Capitec-approved service provider). Call us on 0860 77 75 54, log your request, or WhatsApp us on 067 418 9565. FMS will then contact you.
When requesting this service, you must have the following ready:
- Your name, address, and contact number
- Your policy number or ID number
- The name and ID number of the deceased and the address of the place of death
