Make easy, fast and safe in-store payments with your debit or credit card, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and more – you choose. 
 

How to add your card to Apple Wallet:  

Step 1: Sign in on our app 

Step 2: Tap Cards and Add to Apple Wallet.

Step 3: Follow the on-screen prompts 

Follow these steps to pay in-store with your phone or watch.

Pay with your credit or debit card. 

What you need to get a credit card:  

  • Your original ID document (you must be 18 or older) 
  • Your latest salary slip 
  • A 3-month bank statement (if your salary isn't paid into a Capitec account) 
  • A minimum monthly salary of R3 000 or R5 000 if you're self-employed

How to get a debit card:

You’ll need to open an account to get a debit card.

To open an account, download our app from the Android, Apple or Huawei app store and follow the on-screen prompts – no branch visit needed!

Have your card delivered for a fee or collect it at a branch for free.

What you need to open an account on our app:

  • A smartphone with a South African phone number
  • A valid email address
  • Your South African ID number

Step 1:  Download the Garmin Connect Mobile app from your phone’s app store 

Step 2: Go to Garmin Devices and choose your watch 

Step 3: Follow the on-screen prompts to add your card 

How to pay with Garmin Pay:  

Step 1: Press and hold the light key to open the controls menu    

Step 2: Scroll to the wallet icon    

Step 3: Enter your passcode to authenticate

Follow these steps to pay in-store with Google Pay 

How to add your card to Samsung Wallet:  

Step 1: Open the Samsung Wallet app  

Step 2: Go to the Home tab and select Payment Cards 

Step 3: Tap Add Card 

Step 4: Scan your card, tap your contactless card on the back of your phone, or enter the details manually 

Step 5: Once your card is validated, agree to the terms of service

Step 6: Verify your card when prompted by SMS 

Step 7: Enter your signature on-screen

How to use scan to pay: 

Step 1:  Sign in on our app  

Step 2: Tap Transact

Step 3: Tap Scan to Pay  

Step 4: If it's your first time using scan to pay, read and accept the agreement, then allow the app to access your camera

Step 5: Tap Scan to scan the QR code displayed at the paypoint, on the card machine in-store or at an online checkout

Step 6: Choose a card to pay with (your debit card is your default payment card)

Step 7: Enter the amount

Step 8: Tap Pay

Online Payments

Shop and pay securely online using our app with Capitec Pay, scan to pay, your virtual card and more - you choose.
 

How to pay with Capitec Pay:

Step 1: Choose Capitec Pay through the payment provider

Step 2: Enter your phone, account or ID number

Step 3: Sign in on our app and approve your payment

Note: If you’re signed in on our app, tap Transact, then Capitec Pay to approve your payment.

Step 1: Sign in on our app and tap Cards  

Step 2: Tap the Virtual tab in the top-right of your screen 

Step 3: Tap Add Virtual Card then follow the on-screen instructions

How to make an international payment

Pay people or bills

Pay anyone at any bank on our app. Send cash, make immediate payments or make international payments.

How to make EFT payment using our app: 

Step 1: Sign in on our app and tap Transact 

Step 2: Tap Pay beneficiary 

Step 3: Choose the beneficiary and select Pay  

Step 4: Enter the payment details 

Step 5: Tap Pay

Step 6: Enter your PIN or use biometrics to confirm your payment 

How to make immediate payments using our app: 

Step 1: Sign in on our app and tap Transact 

Step 2: Tap Pay beneficiary 

Step 3: Choose the beneficiary and select Pay  

Step 4: Enter the payment details 

Step 5: Tap Immediate payment 

Step 6: Enter your PIN or use biometrics to confirm your payment

Step 3: Choose Bank and enter payment amount 

Step 4: Confirm the payment with your PIN or biometrics

How to send cash using our app:  

Step 1: Tap Transact 

Step 2: Tap Send cash  

Step 3: Choose 'From' account

Step 4: Enter the amount you want to send

Step 5: Create a 4-digit secret code (this will be used to collect the cash) 

Step 6: Tap Send 

Step 7: Read the terms and conditions, tick the boxes and tap Accept

Step 8: Tap Yes to confirm the transaction 

Step 9: Tap Share Reference Number button 

Step 10: Send the secret code to your recipient in a separate message
