Capitec Pay supports card‑free EFT payments directly from a Capitec account.

It’s not a card payment. When you choose Capitec Pay, we send an EFT payment request to our app, where you approve the payment.

You don’t need to use your card or enter card details or banking login information at checkout.

Paying with Capitec Pay is secure because you don’t need to enter your bank card details or banking login information.

Every payment must be approved by you on our app. If you don’t approve it, the payment won’t go through.

It costs just R1 to pay using Capitec Pay.

Yes. When you approve a Capitec Pay payment on our app, you can choose which account or card to pay from:

1. On the Capitec Pay approval screen, tap From account
2. Switch to any of your accounts, including your Credit Card

You can also set your default account for Capitec Pay on our app:

1. Tap Transact
2. Choose Capitec Pay
3. Tap Default account

Choose what works best for you based on where you’re paying and what payment methods are available:

• For online shopping, you can use Capitec Pay where it’s available. It’s quick, easy and safe. You don’t need to enter your card details or banking login information. You just approve the payment safely on our app
• For in‑store purchases, you can use your card, or you can use cardless options like Scan to Pay or digital wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay for quick, contactless checkout

Once you’ve approved a Capitec Pay payment on our app it can’t be cancelled.

If something goes wrong, contact the merchant directly to request a refund. If a dispute is unresolved after contacting the merchant, you can call our 24hr Client Care Centre on 0860 10 20 43.
