Yes, if the country supports Apple Pay.

Before you travel or shop online internationally, make sure your personal details (contact number, address and permits) are up to date on your Personal and/or Business Banking account. This is required for Balance of Payments reporting to the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).

Your card may be suspended if this information is missing.

If your card has been stolen or you suspect fraud, you need to stop it immediately.

When you stop a card:

  • It’s closed straight away
  • All transactions and subscriptions linked to the card will decline
  • The card will no longer work in digital wallets such as Apple Pay
  • You need to get a new card with new card details

If you think your card is temporarily misplaced, you can freeze your card instantly on our app. Unfreeze it later if you find it – no replacement needed.

When you freeze a card:

  • Your card is temporarily blocked but not closed
  • All transactions stop while the card is frozen (this includes withdrawals, purchases, subscriptions and card‑based payments)
  • When you unfreeze it, the same card and card details stay active
  • You do not need a new card
  • A frozen card cannot be added to digital wallets like Apple Pay
