As the Product Head of Conversational Banking at Capitec, I oversee and drive the development, implementation, and enhancement of conversational banking products and services, primarily focusing on delivering exceptional client experiences. Their goal is to ensure seamless, intuitive, and personalised interactions between the bank and its clients through various conversational channels, such as chatbots, voice assistants, and messaging platforms.
Conversational banking is a modern approach to financial services that enable clients to interact with their banks through natural language communication channels such as chatbots, voice assistants, and messaging platforms. It leverages artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning (ML) technologies to facilitate seamless, personalised, and real-time conversations between banks and their clients.
This innovative banking model aims to improve client engagement, enhance user experience, and provide more accessible and convenient financial services. Conversational banking allows clients to perform a wide range of banking tasks, such as checking account balances, transferring funds, paying bills, and getting personalised financial advice, simply by engaging in natural, conversational interactions with their banks’ AI-powered virtual assistant.
