About the award

We’ve been recognised at the Africa Fintech Forum Awards 2026 for our leadership in financial integrity and trust. This award reflects the work our teams do behind the scenes to combat financial crime, protect your money and build trust into everything we do. It was accepted by Nick Harris, our Head of Financial Crime, but it belongs to every team working to keep you safe.

Nick shared more about the work behind this recognition:

“This award highlights the progress we’re making to protect our clients and strengthen trust. Criminal activity is changing fast. We’ve focused on improving how we pick up unusual behaviour, respond to threats and stop criminals sooner.”

He explained how how our teams work together:

“We bring our fraud and anti‑money laundering work together so the right people can act at the right time. This approach helps us spot suspicious behaviour earlier, act faster and stop more criminal activity – especially in areas like digital payments, cryptocurrency activity and mule‑account use.”

Nick also spoke about how trust shows up in our daily work:

“We keep investing in better technology and stronger checks. By building financial‑crime protections into every step of how people bank with us, we make sure that prevention, detection and response all work together – without making banking complicated.”

Nick joined leaders from across the industry on the Financial Crime Panel at the Forum. The session explored digital crime, cross‑border risks and how organisations can work together to keep clients safe.
