Accountability

We strive to govern, process, and safeguard your personal information, responsibly, ethically and lawfully.

Minimal processing

We aim to provide world-class banking and financial services and limit processing of personal information to processing that is adequate, relevant and necessary.

Transparency

We strive to always be open and transparent about how we collect and process personal information and continuously work on improving the information available in our privacy centre.

Data subject servicing

We understand that personal information belongs to you, the data subject, and respect your rights. We always aim to provide excellent client experience and services and apply the same care when handling your data subject requests and queries.

Data quality

We strive to maintain the accuracy and integrity of your personal information and seek to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. To do this, we rely on information provided by you, as well as information verified or collected from reliable third parties.

Information Security

We take appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational measures to prevent loss, damage, unauthorised and unlawful access to personal information. We use reasonable measures to identify reasonably foreseeable risks, maintain appropriate safeguards against such risks, verify the effectiveness of safeguards and ensure that we continually improve our responses to risks. In doing so, we consider generally accepted information security practice and the Capitec Environment.

Protection of sensitive information

We will consider the nature and sensitivity of personal information to ensure that appropriate legal justifications and security safeguards are applied to special categories of personal information.
