Our app supports biometric login such as fingerprint or facial recognition on compatible devices. It’s a quick, secure way to keep your account safe without needing to type in your PIN every time.
If your device doesn’t support biometrics, you can still log in safely with your app PIN.
Unused app functions can become security weak points if your phone is lost or stolen. That’s why we created Feature Lock.
Simply swipe to lock any feature you don’t use on your Transact menu. You’ll need your PIN or biometrics to unlock it, and there's a built-in 4-hour delay with selfie verification for added security.
This means that even if your phone ends up in the wrong hands, your locked features stay secure.
We’re the first bank in South Africa to use realtime payment tracking to stop fraud before it happens.
By recording and analysing every payment instantly using advanced technology, we can detect suspicious activity and block payments to high-risk accounts before your money leaves your account.
When we flag a payment, you’ll be prompted to complete a quick security screening to assess the risk. You can then choose to cancel or continue with the payment.
If someone calls claiming to be from Capitec, how do you know it’s really us? With our in-app call verification, it’s easy.
While on the call, open your app and look for a green message at the top of your screen – that means the call is from us. If it’s red, it means we can’t verify the call and it’s likely a scam.
