An immediate payment is a real time transfer you send from your account to someone who banks with another bank. The money is sent straight away and normally reflects within a few seconds or minutes.
An immediate payment is also called an instant payment, instant EFT or real time payment.
Immediate payments usually show within a few minutes. In many cases, the recipient sees the money almost instantly.

Immediate payments depend on how all banks process the money behind the scenes. If the immediate payment is delayed, you can check the status on our app.
Immediate payments have a small fee because the transfer is sent straight away instead of waiting for a regular EFT. This covers the convenience of sending money instantly instead of waiting for a normal EFT.

If an immediate payment hasn't reflected yet, it’s usually due to:
If the payment doesn’t go through, the money stays in your account. If the payment is delayed, check the status on our app or contact our Client Care Centre for help.
Immediate payments have daily and permanent limits to keep your money safe.

Yes. You can make an immediate payment at any time, including weekends and public holidays.
There may be short delays if other banks or networks are offline. If this happens, you can check the payment status on our app.
